The Food Court

[Zen Cedar]

Zen watched Heather and then Nick leave the table, and shrugged her shoulders. She chuckled at Jak when he made faces at the blond.

"She's related to you dude? Family get togethers must be a rad time." She said and took a sip of her soda.

[Nick Hampton]

Nick blushed slightly from the complement. "Thanks..I'll buy ok?" He says and walks up to the cashier and orders there food. "I might need some help carrying all of this..." He says and notices when he picked up the tray that all the food was on, it tilted and he could tell if he picked it up, something would fall off. "Mind giving me a hand, Jessa?" He said smiling at her.

[Jessa Johanson]

"Sure thing, your wish is my command." She said and gave a quick playful salute and took another tray and placed some of the stuff from one tray onto the other.

"There, that should help. I'll carry one and you can carry the other." She said and smiled, then looked around. Aralynn had picked a table close to where Jak and Zen were sitting.

"Is that table okay with you Nick?" Jessa asked before moving toward it, then she added, "Oh thanks for buying lunch.. next time lunch will be on me." She said and smiled.

[Nick Hampton]

Nick picks up what is left and walks over to where Jessa was. "Hehe, alright I'll let you pay next time, and I don't mind sitting here." He says smiling at her and Aralynn again. "So I do have to ask, what made you guys wanna talk to me..most people just stare at me, or glare, talk about me then walk away..." He says in a sad tone.

[Jak Chase]

Jak chuckled at himself. "Oh, yeah. Them reunions are a real scream." Jak then straightened up and began cracking up. "Oh, man. This one time last year, I did the most hilarious thing!" Jak hunched over on the table and began explaining his prank. "Heather had just blown a fuse at the park and decided she was leaving, so before she left, I got a balloon and put it under her tire! And you should've seen the fit she threw! She thought she blew a tire! It was gold!"

[Zen Cedar]

"Thats hilarious dude, water balloons are wicked." Zen said and grinned. She leaned back and put her arms behind her head.

"So other than the stressful cousin, do you have any siblings dude?" She asked.

[Jak Chase]

Jak exhaled and poped his neck. "Nope. I is numero uno and stayin' that way, I guess." Jak asked for a drink of Zen's soda. "What about you?"

Aralynn face lit as the food was placed on the table. She was about to reach for the noodles but stopped and looked at Nick. "Why would strangers glare at you or speak poorly about you though?" She grabbed her chopsticks and attempted to use them, however she wasn't having much success.

[Zen Cedar]

Zen pushed her drink over to Jak without even asking a question.

"What you see is what you get dude. My parents thought that having a sibling would like totally put a damper on my psychological development or something." she answered.

"I guess if I didn't have the animals to talk to, I would have been real lonely man." She added after a moment, then shrugged.

[Jessa Johanson]

"Because they're nutty." Jessa said simply, and put her food in front of her along with the drink. She looked over at Nick for a moment, concentration clear on her face, "And anyway, Nick.. I think you look very interesting and sweet. I'm glad that we met." She said and smiled sweetly.

"I'm sure that Aralynn is use to people looking at her that way though, she's a little strange you know." She said in a completely joking manner, and winked at Aralynn, a playful grin on her face.

[Jak Chase]

Jak took a sip of Zen's soda and passed it back. "Well, dang, girl, you gotta at least have some friends at school." Jak sat up in his chair. "If you and I are said soulsiblings, and I got tons of friends, my soulsibling, who happens to be twice as cool, would at least have a fan-base or somethin'." Jak had once again been trying to make a funny, but he wasn't kidding. He thought Zen was cool and wondered if she had friends or not.

"People only look at me that way because they're wondering why on Earth someone like me is hanging around you." Aralynn swiftly responded as she lightly tapped her useless chopstick on Jessa's head.

[Nick Hampton]

Nick laughed silently. He really liked these girls, they made him feel as if he was..normal..it was refreshing. "Well I don't understand why people are curious of either of you, you seem pretty normal to me." He says and started to eat an egg roll he got.

[Jessa Johanson]

Jessa stuck her tongue out at Aralynn then turned to Nick and grinned, "Well you know what they say, sometimes looks can be deceiving. Anyway, I'm not really sure what normal is.. whatever it is, I'm sure its boring." She said and winked at Nick. She hadn't thought about it, but she was already loosening up around Nick which could have only meant that she already accepted him as one of her friends, someone within her inner circle.

She took a bite of General Tso Chicken, "MMM, this is so good! I could live on this." She said, covering her mouth as she spoke. "Do either of you want a bite?" She asked and tilted the container toward her two friends, offering a bite before she put her fork back into the food, so that if they did want a taste, it wouldn't have her germs in it.

[Szayel]

Szayel had been walking by the food court after his trip to the bookstore. He walked by and grabbed his stomach. He was hungry, but not food hungry. He decided he could wait it out and made a trip to the smoothie shop. A Cherry Coke & Grape Smoothie always seemed to be a good substitute, so he decided to get one before he ate. He walked inside and saw that he would need to wait about three minutes, so he sat down with one seat between him and a blonde girl using her phone.
