History:
Szayel was born and raised in the city of Firenze (Florence), Italy during the Renaissance. He had a happy life with his small family as a child. His father was a local magician, and was protective and good humored, but stern. His mother was sweet, caring, and attentive. His brother had had a goal to become a knight for the King of England, and his sister had dreamed of being the princess, which their parents took with good nature. The Arruruerie were in high connections with powerful families, such as the Medici, the Auditore, and so on. Szayel had a life with many perks for being the magician's son and of noble family. He had many friends and was locally popular. But his entire life changed from the age of 7. One day, he was playing outside with the other children, when he fell and scraped his knee. He began to cry and his mother noticed him from the window. She rushed out and took Szayel inside. She kissed him and took him to the medicine cabinet, but it was empty. She and Szayel went to find Szayel's father in his room to ask for money to go and buy medicine, but when they walked in, they found him practicing black magic. Szayel could not understand at the time, but his mother swore to keep it a secret. She loved her husband and didn't want to tear the family apart. In truth, Szayel's father knew that he could perform the black magic, for he was of vampire descent, but never told a soul. He continued practicing magic, and even taught minor bits to his children as time passed. Szayel's brother, Harribel, was especially skilled in learning, and used this to continue for his goal of being the greatest knight in history. Szayel, however, had wished to follow in his father's footsteps, and become a magician as well. One night, on Szayel's tenth birthday, things went horribly wrong. Someone had accused Szayel's father of practicing black magic while he was out with his two sons. He had lit a candle without anything to start fire. The accusing man began trying to start an arguement, but Szayel's father tried to remain calm in front of his children. Szayel's brother began to defend his father, and he was caught in the arguement, while Szayel stayed back. The man was getting Harribel angry, and along with his father telling him to keep calm, he was under great stress. Harribel used his gift, which was Psychokinesis, against the man to harm him. When everyone saw the man scream in pain and drop to his knees with only a glare, they began to become mortified of what the magician had taught his children, and they fled, seeking the authorities. Szayel's father retreated with his sons back to their home and warned Szayel's mother and sister. Szayel's mother took the children and told them to take refuge in the secret hatch beneath the house. Szayel went in, but Harribel refused. He was determined to defend his home with his father. Tia had left to retrieve her comfort doll in her room, but before she could return, the authorities arrived. Szayel had already been hidden, but Harribel and Tia were exposed. All Szayel heard was a struggle. When it was settling, he heard, "Don't let him go!" Shortly after, the struggle calmed, and a new, softer struggle was heard. He could hear his sister crying. Szayel had been too afraid to come out. He heard the authorities and villagers debate on whether Tia should be killed. Some said she was only a mere child and could be saved. Others deemed her "the seed of evil" and said she could be killed. It was decided that she should be killed as well, and that the bodies and house should be burned. They dropped a torch on the floor boards and evacuated. Szayel knew it wasn't safe to leave yet. Some would watch the destruction. When he knew he had to leave or he would die, he went to his father's chamber and retrieved his book, and took his sister's comfort doll, as well. Szayel was able to escape through the back way without being seen. He spent four days following a stream into the nearby woods. When he collapsed from exhaustion on the fifth day, a man had come across him. He helped Szayel up and gave him two loaves of bread to eat. He said that the boy looked familiar, and soon recognized him as Hannibal's son. The man said his name was Roland and was a friend of Szayel's father. He asked why Szayel was this far away from his village and when he heard the answer he seemed to get both angry and sad at once. Szayel began to cry and said he was confused. Roland told him that he should go with him. That the woods weren't safe this deep inward. He took him to a clearing out in some farther part of the woods where, in the center, was a cottage. There was where Szayel learned the truth about who and what he was. He was trained to use his enhanced abilities, and after studying his father's book, learned his gift was pyrokinesis. On his sixteenth birthday was when he tasted his first drop of blood. It was a wonderful thing, but Roland always warned Szayel to never allow himself to lose control. To always be in control of his bloodlust. Over the years, Szayel's body stopped aging. On his eighteenth birthday, he was introduced to the special order that the Arruruerie had been a part of. It was a guild of "special officials" that was directly connected to the Medici family. Truthfully, it was more like an order controlled outside of the government to keep peace in Italy; a "brotherhood" if you will. One day, many years later, the cottage was discovered by a group of three travelers. Roland allowed them to stay as long as they didn't cause trouble. At this time, Szayel had learned to control himself, but one night, he lost himself. He began feasting on one of the travelers after he cut himself with a bread knife, and was discovered by the others. They fled to retrieve authorities to kill the two and burn the cottage. Szayel and Roland were forced to flee. Szayel never saw Roland again. Szayel, soon after, swore to never lose himself to bloodlust again. As time continued passing, Szayel took it upon himself to travel the world outside of Europe. He may have left the brotherhood, but they continue to keep connections with each other.
That thing you do
Strength:
Szayel is very smart and has a high comprehension. He is very agile and limber, and is much stronger than normal for most vampires. He can keep cool under many different, stressful situations. Just as well, he has a very high endurance to pain and exhaustion. Szayel also has near a century's worth of assassin experience.
Weakness:
Szayel is very cold and closed off. It is very hard to get near him or close to him in many senses, since his guard is always up. He is also very cocky and may let that get the best of him at times. He also tends to over-think certain situations and wind up lost.
Special Ability:
Szayel found his gift to be pyrokinesis. He can start and put out great, raging flame with the point of a finger. The intensity, however, can be adjusted to about five hundred degrees celcius. The impact of the combustion can blow up concrete structures equivelant to blowing down walls which can be feet thick, as well.
Alignment
He tries remaining nuetral, but finds himself embracing light more than not, taking more noble and just actions.
How do you control your blood lust
Szayel drinks blood in larger than moderate quantities, but has absolute control over his bloodlust, and can go as long as he wants without it.
