Alex had just been given a splendid idea from her nephew! She wanted it to happen, but she didn't want to finance it on her own...perhaps she could convince Lilith to make it a fundraising event.
Alex knew one place that Lilith loved to spend time in, and that was the castle garden. Alex loved this place herself; it was an excellent place to have tea parties.
"Lilith! There you are dear!" she skipped over to her, "I have just had the most wonderful idea!" no way was Alex going to give Thomas too much credit. This was going to be HER profitable event, "You know how All Hallows Eve is coming up..and other holidays?" she didn't wait for Lilith to answer, she just kept jabbering on, "I propose that we have a masked ball! Everyone can be in costume...that is, vintage. We can serve traditional food, oh, we can have some modern music, I suppose," the whole vintage thing and music was actually Alex's idea, "It will be a fine way to raise some money as well," Alex prayed that Lilith would suggest it be a FREE event. How Alex loathed FREE events...

Lilith put down her cup of tea on the table and raised her eyebrow as she listened to Alex ramble on about the idea of a ball. Personally Lilith didn't like the idea of the outside world intruding on her sanctuary, however it had been a long time since the Castle was opened to the public.
"This money, what would come of it? Would we keep it ourselves, or donate it?" Lilith asked, trying to hide a smile when she imagined Alex's reaction to the idea of simply giving money away.
"After all, I suppose it would be nice to donate the money to the Academy so that they could buy more supplies, do you agree?" She asked. She then looked over at her tea and picked up another tea cup, "Would you like some?" She asked.

Alex only stared at Lilith for a bit. Give the money away? Who would ever- no, she had to be joking! But this was Lilith...she would be foolish enough to be generous...
"Thank you, yes, I will have some tea with you dear," she sat down and poured herself a cup, "And as to where the money will go...I was hoping to keep it as emergency funds for the castle...but if you think it would be better to donate it to the school...then so be it," Alex could hear the money fly out the window now. They had sad, sad faces. They wanted to be with Alex as much as Alex wanted to be with them...

Lilith couldn't hold back her smile any longer, Alex hadn't disappointed her with her reaction. She took a sip of tea, letting Alex dangle a bit more. "Well, I suppose we do need to keep some of the funds for an emergancy, so perhaps we can only donate 30% of the money. After all, donating money to the school would show everyone what a caring person you are Alexandra." She said.

If Alex were a puppy, her ears would have perked up and her tail would have started to wag, "Oh, do you mean it, Lilith?" she grinned from fuzzy ear to fuzzy ear, "And I guess I am quite caring -if I do say so myself," Alex was quite pleased. Sure, she would have liked to keep all of the money, but if keeping 70% of the profits was the best she'd get, then she'd keep it, "Oh Lilith, you are so brilliant!" she started to giggle. Now, since she sounded somewhat like a bearish man, the giggle sounded a little creepy, "Oh yes!" she suddenly stopped giggling, "I'm afraid that more of my relatives may be coming soon. You remember my brother, Felix? He's been speaking of coming soon. I haven't seen him in 300 years..."

Zedkiel had been away from the castle for a long time, he had left to another town for a while since this town offered no fun for him so long as the other Ancients inhabited it. He was at the garden looking at the flowers. dispicable he thought, How could they live surrounded by all this calmness. Zedkiel love to cause chaos and havoc he loved the sweetness he felt when his pitiful prey agonized and cried for mercy, but he had to get a rest from time to time before they tried to kill him. Zedkiel was trully crazy... Someone approached him he didn't know who but someone did...

Alex, after having reviewed her bank account, decided that she would sit in the garden for a while. It was such a lovely day despite the snow. Thank goodness for the greenhouses or some of those flowers wouldn't even bloom. Then she'd have to buy MORE flowers! Just the thought of spending money on anything made Alex shiver--and the shiver wasn't because of the cold!
Then she saw someone familar. Zedkiel. She hadn't seen that nutcase in a while, "Zedkiel, what brings you back here? Did you get bored again? Or are you wanting money? You're not getting any!" if there was something Alex hated more than buying something, it was loaning money. There was no guarantee that she'd get it back. That's why she had Anti, she guessed...

Zedkiel looked at Alex. "Well I thought after a while of terrorizing people I would return home for a while," he said with a crazy grin on his face. He really was crazy. He remembered something, he hoped that Alex wouldn't notice that he had been gone for three months which would mean trouble for him... Oh well she didn't seem to remember so it was all good. "So how have you been," he said as gesture of politeness.

"I see," she frowned, "I hope that you're not going to bring hunters here. The last thing I need are a bunch of hunters down my throat, asking questions," well, that and a tax audit.
"I'm not doing so well, Zedkiel. Not well at all. Not only was my ballroom destroyed a few months ago, but you also haven't paid your rent in three months. And since there was blood and other yuck stuck to your walls, your bill has increased by a conciderable amount. You owe me money, dear. You owe me a LOT of money," her voice was anything but sweet. Her eyes showed him that he better not try to get out of this.

He didn't want this to happen he knew he shouldn't of asked how things where. Oh it was bad timing to come to the garden. Crap, how can I get out of this! he thought. He didn't have a cent with him, he never actually worked or anything, and well it never crossed his mind to gather money. "I know I owe you money... But as you can see I don't have any right now..."

She tapped her foot, her beefy hands on her hips, "Blah blah blah. I don't care if you don't have money. Zedkiel, you need to grow up. Get a job! It's very simple. Perhaps I can find something for you to do...then again, I don't want to pay you..." she tapped her hairy chin, thinking, "I suppose you could help out in the kitchen--given that you don't EAT any of the servants! Azrael would not be happy at all about this. Or you can go beg in the streets. I don't care. Just get the cash."

Zedkiel knew far too well this was not going to get anywhere if he didn't decide for a way to bring money to Alex. "Well I suppose I can work at the kitchen..." he said. "I promise I won't eat any of the servants... Or at least try with all my will power not to do so."

"Try, Zedkiel?" she raised an eyebrow, "I don't want to go through the process of hiring more servants. It's bad enough when Valeria gets bored! Plus, my insurance may go up if anyone finds out. No, you have to PROMISE that you won't drain any of the servants."
She sighed, "and I suppose that you'll be moving back in, yes?"

"Yes, if it is not inconvenient," he said. He knew that it would take all his willpower not to devour... such delectable food, but he would have to deal with it somehow until he had payed of his debt with Alex. He knew far too well that if he didn't... it wouldn't be nice.

Alex simply looked at him for a couple of minutes. He seemed to be telling the truth. There really was no way to tell...well, she could listen to his heartbeat, but Ancient ones were very good liars when it mattered. Sometimes, Alex wished that she had a lie detector.
"Fine fine. You start tomorrow. See to it that you keep your word. Keep in mind that you won't be paid. That would be an endless cycle of returning money," she turned to leave the garden. She wanted to go count her money again.
