Rena laughed at Sabine slightly. This new girl was adorable! "No, don't worry! You don't smell. If it makes you feel better, the only reason I knew is because I could 'sense' it. I'm a sorceress." Rena said the last part in a whisper. She hoped this wasn't going to freak Sabine out, but it also might make her more comfortable. It seemed like it would make her feel less alone.

Sabine relaxed a little, "Oh good, I'm glad.. there for a moment I thought I was going to go buy some special lycan shampoo.. where would you buy that from anyway? I doubt they sell that at the pet store, or any actual store." She said, though she was rambling.
Her jaw dropped when Rena said that she was a sorcerer, "Sorcerer? Like a witch or something? You can.. you know.. do magic? I had no idea that those even existed!" she whispered back.
She let out a sigh, "I have so much to learn.."

Lyla heard the man talk back to her and comment on how she didn't appear to look unhappy. She looked over her shoulder at Ala, and it was true..she wasn't as disturbed as she should be. She then felt as if she couldn't think straight, but only for a few seconds. She then held her head and looked back at Thomas. Did HE do that? And listen to her friend? What did he mean? But what really struck her was when he flashed his fangs towards her.
Lyla gasped and backed up, actually tripping and falling on her butt, but tried to crawl away by using her feet to push the ground. Her father told her she wouldn't like vampires for some reason, she think she got the reason why now. They made her feel strange, and she was pretty sure that those fangs were meant to be shown to her for a reason.

Rena giggled at Sabine again. She loved flaunting her powers to newbie's. "If you want, I can show you." Rena pointed her finger at the tree over to the right. She stuck the tip of her tongue out to concentrate. The tree then started to rustle. Well, soon, it wasn't just a rustle. The actual tree started moving, just like the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter! Rena let out a light giggle. She turned to Sabine. "See? Aren't I awsome?"
Rena had a smug grin, but she wasn't watching the tree, which started moving rather crazily. She turned around to the noise. She made a worried gasp and started flicking her fingers at it. She was trying to stop it, but she sucked at this kind of magic! She had forgotten this and just wanted to show off. The tree looked like it was getting ready to slam down on the girls. Rena pushed Sabine out of teh way and cringed as the tree came down over her. She whimpered a bit as it came within smashing distance. Then it lightly brushed her hair and sagged back into place, absolutely still. Rena opened her eyes after it settled and looked at it.
"Did I do that?"
A boy's voice answered back, slightly unhappy.
"No, I did." Jak jumped down from the fence he was standing on and walked up to his sister. "Rena, what did Mom tell you about using your magic to show off? You should know better than this. Come on, we're leaving." He really could play the big brother role rather well sometimes. He didn't want to seem like a jerk to that lycan girl who Rena was obviously flaunting for, but something felt dangerous in the park right now. He decided to at least talk to her.
"I'm so sorry about this. Rena just doesn't think sometimes. Are you ok?" Jak said as he helped her up. she was on the ground from when Rena pushed her away from the tree.

Sabine was pretty much in a trance from the moment that Rena had made the tree wiggle. Not even being pushed out of the way of the tree was enough to knock her out of the trance. However, Jak's appearing out of no where and helping her up did snap her out of it. She looked at him, then looked at the tree. Finally she looked at Rena.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry that I didnt' react sooner and keep you from danger! I'm so lame! You would think that I would get use to some of this stuff even though I'm really new to it all.. next time you're in danger, I swear that I'll help." She said, beating herself up (figuratively of course).
She then smiled, "But that was really incredible, having magic must be amazing." She said, beaming. She still hadn't really acknowleged Jak. When she did turn to him, her smile disappeared.
"oh no, please don't apologize. It was my fault, Rena was just showing me magic because I didn't even know it existed.. if I weren't so inept then she wouldn't have done it.. I'm sorry." She said.

Thomas didn't make a move to attack the dormant vampire, which was why (he guessed) that the hunter wasn't attacking him yet. The hunter was, however, inching toward the girl slowly. He chuckled. Hunters sometimes did that. It was almost like they were scared that vampires only attacked if the prey made sudden movements.
"Relax hunter," Thomas addressed the hunter, finally noticing that the hunter had purple in his hair, "I have no wish to drink this night." after giving Lyla another look that almost said that this wasn't the last she'd see of him, he said, "I'll be taking my leave now," he turned and then left.

Lyla couldn't talk at all, and when she noticed that Adam was near her, she almost felt like her normal self. The look Thomas just gave her though made her freeze and not do anything, not even react to him leaving.
Elliot waited until Thomas left of the night when he rushed over to Lyla and hugged her. "Hey, it's alright, he's gone now, you need to calm down." Elliot thought that comment would help, but instead, Lyla clang to him and actually started to cry on his shoulder. She really was scared he was going to attack her...he started to rub her back slightly and looked at Alavda. He was going to ask her what she said to Thomas, but right now, calming his friend down meant more then Thomas's thing with Alavda.

Jak scratched the back of his head and raised hs eyebrows slightly at Sabine. "Hey, don't go kickin' yourself. Nothing here was your fault. Look, I hate to drag my sister away all of a sudden, so why don't you come over for dinner? You're Irish I can tell, and so's my family. I'm sure you'll feel at home. I'm Jak, by the way. Jak Chase. Rena's older brother." He held is hand out to shake. Wow, for once he wasn't hitting on a new girl! And I can tell you all it was because he had something big on his mind with Bree. He knew she'd be super psyched.... or at least, he hoped.

Sabine rubbed the back of her head in an embarrassed manner, but when Jak said that he could tell that she was Irish, her face went blank. "You can tell? I didn't realize I had so many tells.. It's a good thing I'm not a poker player, or I'd lose for sure!" She said and sighed, but then she smiled brightly and took Jak's hand and gave it a shake.
"I'm Sabine O'Shae, it's nice to meet you. And especially nice of you to invite me to dinner, but let me call my parents first so that they don't worry. She quickly took out her cellphone and dialed her parents number. It rang only one time before her mother answered.
The conversation was really short and Sabine's almost non-existant irish accent got heavier while talking to her mother. Both of Sabine's parents still had their Irish accents and even though Sabine didn't think she had one, it always came out after speaking to her parents for short time. After saying her fairwells, she hung up the phone and smiled at Jak and Rena.
"My Mum and Da said that it would be okay. They're happy that I'm already making friends." She said, but then a thought occured to her and she frowned slightly, "um, I hope this doesn't seem weird, but you're not having anything with potatos right? I really don't like them.." she said. But then her eyes widened and she put her hand over her mouth, "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry.. that was really rude of me.. if you are having potatos then I'll eat them, I can't believe I was being so ungrateful!!"

Alavda was numb. He said that he would probably try to see her tonight. She wasn't sure how she felt about that. Of course, she was the one that told him to talk to her alone. It was her fault.
She started forward when Lyla started to confront Thomas, her cheeks flaming when he pointed out that she didn't appear to be upset by him touching her. When he was finally gone, she slowly went up to Lyla and crouched down beside Elliot and Lyla. She wasn't sure if she should join in on the hugging. Was she even welcome to the hugging? She knew that Elliot wanted to know what she and Thomas spoke about, but she really didn't want to tell him. She felt ashamed. She might as well have thrown her arms around Thomas' neck and kissed him...
Before she could move to help comfort Lyla, Adam had already joined in, putting one arm around her shoulders since Elliot made it difficult to put both around her, "You're alright," he said in a way that almost made Alavda widen her eyes in surprise. He sounded so concerned. She'd never seen him with that expression or tone of voice.
She balled her hands into fists, wrinkling the fabric of her skirt, "I'm sorry mes amis," she bit her lip, unaware that she had pierced the skin and she had a little blood dripping down her chin.

Lyla looked at both Elliot and Adam and shifted from hugging Elliot to Adam. "Please, don't push me away..." Lyla begged Adam.
Elliot walked over at Alavda and his eyebrows showed the concern he had. "So...I'm guessing you said something to Thomas, but I won't press it, that is your thing...right?" He smiled at her, yes, he shouldn't completely trust her yet. But he had a feeling that if Alavda meant to break his heart, she would have made sure that he couldn't have come back to her. He was going to put his trust back in her, for now. Which was something COMPLETELY different for him to do.
He put his thumb up though and wiped the blood that was dripping down her chin. "Hey...don't bit your lip so hard..you are bleeding...and I don't care if you think you deserve it..you don't.." Elliot said in a soothing tone.

Alavda found herself dumbfounded. Why did Elliot put so much trust in her? For all he knew, she could have told Thomas to kill Elliot somewhere with less witnesses, or to save some for her. She didn't understand him, but she was thankful for his trust.
But at the same time, she wished that he wouldn't trust her so much.
"I did. I told him that if he hurt you, I would never forgive him," she wasn't sure why she knew that saying that would work on Thomas, but she was glad that it did, "And," she hesitated for a second before telling him the rest, "I told him that if he had something to say, he shouldn't involve you," sure, that wasn't exactly what she said...but she didn't want to tell him what she actually said. Her insides burned with shame. Why did she tell Thomas that he should talk to her ALONE? She was an utter fool.
Elliot's thumb wiping the blood off her chin broke her away from her line of thought. She stared at the blood on his thumb, not desiring it since it was her own blood. It did remind her that she would need to feed soon, however, "Oh," she licked the blood off her lip, feeling the wound close up, "I didn't even realize I did that...fangs can be a quite a hassle," she gave him a sheepish smile.

Adam wrapped both his arms around Lyla in a comforting way. He couldn't help but notice that her hair smelled like lilies. The plant suddenly became on of his favorites.
"Push you away? Why would I do that?" he said softly, "You know that I won't let him hurt you, right?" Adam was oddly serious. He hardly ever found himself being serious about anything, but the way that vampire frightened Lyla struck something in him.

"Because you don't know me that well?" Lyla stated, and when Adam told her that he wouldn't let him hurt her, she did find herself pushing him away, but not in an angry way. In fact, she was looking straight at him, with her eyes as wide as she could get them and a slight smile on her face. "R-really? You mean it?", but she knew he meant it. There was something about the way he was portraying himself that showed quite clearly that he intended to keep his word.
She was now finally catching on to what everyone was saying. She really was changing him...but she didn't know if that was a good or bad thing in her mind.

"Yeah, I mean it," his goofy smile reappeared, "Why would I lie? I mean, it looked like that guy really scared you. What kind of guy would that make me if I didn't protect you?" yeah yeah...Adam may have been a lazy hunter, neglecting his duties and all, but he wouldn't let an adamite or supernatural die like that...well, maybe once or twice...the supernatural, anyways...
"Anyways...lets go somewhere fun," he wanted to distract her, and honestly...he was wanting to get this weird feeling out of his system, "How about we knock over some shelves at the bookstore? Maybe the library?"
