Alona went up to the mall, kind of bored and in a shopping mood. besides, Jordan had given her a grocery/shopping list anyway, so it was perfect timing. Alona had her purse with her for once, instead of just using a pocket to carry money. No pockets in her outfit today. But that's irrelevant.
She looked at the list Jordan gave her, and then back up and around her, trying to figure out where to start. It was a lengthy list and, being by herself, she wasn't sure exactly how or where to start. Distracted, Alona was looking at the list, sorting items into groups so she could find them all in one store and go on to the next. She almost didn't notice when the person she bumped into snatched her little purse. She almost said sorry bumping into him when she noticed.
"You jerk! Give me my purse back!" she yelled as the culprit, just a random adamite, started running. Who knew even somewhere like Shadow Peak could have the average everyday asswipe.

Tyler was just wandering around the mall, wanting to be away from his dad. Not that he didn't like his old man, but the guy could be overbearing at times. There wasn't anything in particular that he wanted though...should he leave? He thought about the nearby bookstore. Did they have any new-
His thoughts were interrupted by some teen running toward him. He was going to move out of the way, but he saw a girl running after him. That's when he noticed the purse. He furrowed his brows before putting his foot in the path of the thief, making him trip face first into the ground. Then Tyler snatched the purse out of the culprit's grip, "That's pretty uncool, stealing a purse from a girl," he said to the thief before jogging up to the girl.
"Is this yours?" he asked, holding the bag out to the brunette.

Alona glared at the guy on the ground who stole her purse, gritting her teeth to hold back her temper and prevent herself from beating the adamite to a pulp. There was nothing she wanted to do more right now. She was half mad at him for daring such a trick and half mad at herself for being so spacey today and not paying attention. Oooh how she wanted to kick him where the sun doesn't shine.
Looking up from glaring at the guy on the ground, Alona glowered at her purse before sighing at herself and mentally thumping herself on the head for being suck an idiot. "Thanks for that," Alona replied, grabbing her purse. At least some people were nice. She shook her head. "Man, I can't believe that worked on me. I'm so spacey today. Sorry for making you have to save the day."
Alona looked at the boy who helped her for the first time now. He is pretty cute, she thought to herself, and kind of smiled a bit at him. "But really, thanks. Hey, I haven't seen you around here before, you new to town? Its not every day the new guy saves someone on their first meet. I'm Alona, by the way."
Her usual attitude was showing, confident and sure of herself, but still modest enough to know when she needs help or something like that.

Tyler flashed a bright smile at Alona, "No problem," he said, "Everyone has an off-day sometimes. I'm having one of those today. I sort of wandered in here..."
He waved his hand in a dismissive gesture, "Any guy would love to save the day for any pretty lady, no matter the situation. No need to apologize," he smiled again, "I'm not new to town, but I did go to boarding school for a while, so I might as well be new," he laughed, "I'm Tyler. Nice to meet you, Alona. I take it that you're a native to this town then?"

Alona smiled back, a bit brighter than her last one. "Well, it seems your off day is better than mine, you caught the guy."
Alona, to her surprise, turned ever so slightly pink at the pretty lady comment. And she had been right. Tyler WAS cute, that was evident. "Well, less new than most of the new people we get at least." Alona chuckled a bit. "And you could say that, though I haven't lived here my whole life. Just most of it. Its not so bad, so long as you stay away from certain spots."
Alona considered for a moment. "Well, since we're both sort of spacey today, why not have some spaced out company, since you wandered here anyway," she said to Tyler, smiling. "We could space out together for a bit, and you could tell me what boarding school is like? I've only ever been home schooled."

"Well, it's unacceptable in by my father to be off my game even on my worst days," Tyler replied to her, remembering his father's stern words. He held back a grimace. His dad was a little overbearing...
"Ah, so you're kinda sorta new to town then," he grinned at her again, "But you seem to know your way around, so you can't be that new," he chuckled, "Spacing out together...that sounds like we'd be doing something bad, but I'm sure that you're not into that," nervous laughter, "but sure! What do you wanna do? I guess I could bore you with my endless tales of studying in a dorm, but I would rather talk about you. So you were homeschooled?"

Alona grinned back at him."Yeah, I guess parents can be kinda overbearing, can't they?" Despite not having parents herself, she never really felt like she envied someone with them, because Jordan did a well enough job as an acting parent on his own.
"Oh, no, I've been here since I was like 3, so I know what I'm doing here." A mischievous grin spread across her face at his mention of doing something bad. Like she hasn't done something bad before? Alona hadn't realized she said that part out loud before she continued.
"Me? I don't know if I'm all that interesting either." She made a face. "But yeah, I was home schooled for the most part. I have all of the education I really need but going to school here is kinda fun, too. Lots of people to meet I never knew before."

"Yeah, I can see that," he nodded, "But this town's a bit...I don't know...small?" he shrugged," a bigger town would be better," then he added, "for me, at least. I mean, I guess it's kind of cool that everyone knows each other, but..." He rubbed his bandaged arm, "Can't say that I know every person in town."
"Home schooled...that sounds interesting. A few of the people I knew in boarding school were home schooled for a while. "

Alona shrugged back. "It is kind of small on the outside, I suppose, but its a lot bigger than it seems. And trust me, you don't WANT to know everyone here." Alona made a bit of a face, scrunching up her nose and sticking her tongue out before she grinned at Tyler. She noticed his bandaged arm, and looked at it curiously.
"Are you ok?" she asked motioning to his bandaged arm.
"Home schooling its bad if you wanna make friends, though."

He laughed nervously, "With the way you said that, you make this boring town sound like it's filled with murderers or something!" he shifted his weight, "Can't be though, Dad says that the most dangerous thing in this town is the land lady...what's her name...Alex McWyatt?" he raised on eyebrow inquisitively.
He hid his bandaged arm behind his back, "Oh that?" he shrugged, "It's nothing. A really big dog bit me. It seemed a little feral, but I'm okay," he smiled in a reassuring way. In truth, he's felt slightly different ever since that night. His sense of smell has been...better? Sharper? Maybe he was exaggerating it. Maybe that huge dog made him too nervous, "No big deal," he said almost absentmindedly.

Alona just grinned at the way he seemed nervous about what she said about not wanting to know everyone, but her grin froze when he said Alex was probably the most dangerous person here. Instead of her grin growing, she just burst out into gut-wrenching, body shaking laughter, crouching down and holding her stomach so her sides didn't split. Alona laughed probably for a good 5 minutes before she calmed down and sat back on her heels, her eyes watering from laughing so hard.
"I'm sorry, you caught me way off guard there," Her grin spread from ear to ear in amusement, and her eyes glittered with laughter. "I think you're probably right about Alex being the most dangerous thing out there, though not in the way you might think." Alona started giggling again, and stood back up.
Looking at his arm again, though, she sobered up a bit and frowned slightly. "A feral dog bit you? Hmm. You might wanna get that checked out. My suggestion, if you decide to, go to the hospital and ask specifically for Tony. He is kind of scary, but he knows what he is doing and can get you fixed up in no time. Though if you haven't already, I would suggest putting something on that to keep it from getting infected." Alona hoped that that was all it was, just a feral dog, and not what she thought it might be since it happened around here. She would ask around and find out if anyone bit an Adamite recently, though. She put it out of her mind presently.
"Back to the present matter, instead of standing around, feel like coming shopping with me? Its a good way for me to show you around the little mall we have as well as get the shopping done my brother sent me here to do." She half grimaced, half grinned at him, holding her shopping list up.

Tyler looked at Alona, a little concerned and a bit confused, when she burst out into laughter. Did he say something funny? He had never met the landlady herself, but he had heard that she was a bit...special. Special, but virtually harmless, "Um, alright then," he said when she gave her explanation, "Sounds like there's more to it, but maybe I don't want to know."
He looked at his arm, "I got some shots for it already. Mom was really freaked out that I might get rabies," he studied her face in a way he hoped was discrete. Maybe it was his imagination getting at him again, but he thought that she knew something that he didn't.
"Shopping?" he hoped he didn't have to tell her what he thought of her clothing choices. He didn't think he could take that, "Your brother? So would this be...food or books or something then?" that didn't sound too bad, "Sure, I'll tag along."

Alona grinned at him. "Trust me, you don't wanna know about Alex. If you're lucky, you'll never meet him. Her. It. Whatever she is." She nodded, hoping that it was just a normal dog after all. He didn't smell different than a normal Adamite, so there was a good chance it wasn't what she thought it was after all.
Alona smiled apologetically at Tyler. "Yeah, my older brother sent me out to do the grocery shopping, which includes food, books, cleaning supplies, and whatever else he thought we needed or were out of. He is such a mom sometimes." She smiled again, her eyes a little ways off for a moment, and her smile a fond one. She snapped out of it after a moment and looked at the list.
"Well, if you're going to help me with this, I may as well treat you to lunch for helping me with this slave work afterwards. How does that sound?" She grinned up at him. "I feel kind of bad dragging a guy I just met and who saved me along for something like this, so I wanna repay you for both." She looked around for the first place to start, and figured the best place would be Zellers for all of the miscellaneous stuff Jordan had her looking for.

"It?" Tyler blinked. From what he's heard, Alex wasn't the most beautiful of women, but he didn't think that meant that she had an androgynous style. Maybe he didn't want to know...or maybe he did, "What do you mean? Or do you want to talk about it?"
He laughed when she called her brother a "mom." "A mom? That's great! Nice to know that he's aware of what you all need though, right? My own brother doesn't even know when he needs more toothpaste."
"As much as I like the sound of a free meal, I think that my man card would prefer it if I payed for the pretty girl."

Alona half grimaced. "Alex is nice enough. i think she was born a girl and went through half a sex change or was born a guy and did the same thing. or she was just really unlucky and born a hermaphrodite considered a girl. She is insanely eccentric and adores attractive boys. She terrifies half the guys here. But she really is nice. A compliment or two and she wont raise your rent."
Alona grinned when Tyler laughed. "Yeah, Jordan is awesome enough, despite being a stand-in mom. He raised me and my brother so he ought to know what we need, eh?" She snickered when Tyler talked about his brother. "Sounds like my brother Taylor, to me"
"Your man card?" Alona laughed out loud. "Okay, I gotta say I've heard that one. And while that's true, I'm the one dragging you along on this possible wild goose chase for whatever my brother wants. How about, since your man card won't allow it," she giggled. "We split the bill?"
